Salary: $28.00 USD Hourly - $29.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Surgical Technologist at Seattle, WA

• 
  Surgical techs applying to this posting must have ortho experience in arthroscopic cases, spine, and/or total joints (knees and hips).
  

• 
  Start & end times of shift: 06:45am - 05:15pm with up to 5-6 late days/month. The late days are if procedures are going past 5pm. The late person will stay to finish the case until it is done.


• 
  Days of the week they'll work: 10 hour shifts Mon-Friday. Day off varies.
  
  

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Serves in the scrub role during assigned procedures.


• Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments, according to instruction.


• Maintains supply of fluids and medications labeled and ready for use during operation. -Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation within scope of practice.


• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and facilitates the progress of the surgical procedure.


• Effectively coordinates equipment, supplies and instrumentation according to surgeon?s preference cards. Collaborates with members of the surgical team in the updating and maintenance of preference cards.


• Functions competently within multiple specialty areas and serves in a flexible scrub role with minimal notice.


• Recognizes age and size of patient as a relevant factor, and applies appropriate skills in preparation for surgical intervention.


• Assists team members with positioning, moving and transporting patients.


• Facilitates room turnover.


• Assists with draping of patient.


• Anticipates surgeons needs in supplies and instrumentation.


• Applies knowledge of good sterile technique.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Graduate from a school of surgical technology


• BLS certificate


• Registered as a surgical technician in Washington state
