Job Description:

General Overview:

The Project Manager will provide world class customer service to our internal and external customers by coordinating all activities associated with the Engineering, Design and Project Management group for the Architectural and Industrial Market sectors. This will include all activities related to effectively managing the daily priorities of the group as well as overall project management responsibility for select high visibility projects from kick off to customer sign-off.

This position will be based out of North Aurora, IL.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Will be assigned key projects to manage which includes the planning, scheduling, and controlling activities to fulfill identified objectives.
  • Drawing & submitting project details
  • Provide the leadership to coordinate the efforts of the team and to make decisions to successfully complete projects on time, within scope, managing vendors, timescales, costs, margins and customer expectations to satisfy project requirements.
  • Prepares detailed project schedules, including identification of major milestones, for overseeing, controlling, communicating and managing all activities required to complete projects.
  • Need to manage projects to maintain and/or improve project profit margin.
  • Liaise with Finance Department to ensure timely invoicing and payment where applicable.
  • Competitively negotiate installation and material/labor subcontracts.
  • May need to reside onsite for short durations in managing key larger scale projects as required.
  • Able to perform general engineering calculations including structural, HVAC and electrical.


Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is preferred. PE, ME or MBA is a plus but not required for consideration for this position.
  • PMP Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge with and experience utilizing ERP systems such as Visual, JDE or SAP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Project.
  • Proficient with Auto-Cad & Solid Works
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations.
  • Team player who thrives on collaborating with others to produce proposals.
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Excellent technical aptitude, analytical and detail oriented.
  • Technical ability to learn a diverse product line.
  • Adherence to Contract management protocols like AIA Invoicing, certified payrolls, LEED submittals, Lien Releases, Insurance, Schedule of Values, OSHA, jobsite safety, etc.
  • Contract/Fabrication Drawing and Specification proficiency.
