Job Description:

**Hybrid 3 days in office**



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead and manage the Accounts Payable (AP) team, ensuring adequate staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for AP personnel.
* Oversee and enhance the AP process, including vendor payments, expense reimbursements, petty cash, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Implement and manage workflow improvements using various technology tools, including Chrome River, to optimize AP processes.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, identify and address irregularities, and manage the vendor database and communication.
* Prepare wire transfers, review ACH files, ensure adherence to local regulations for stale checks, and supervise the preparation of 1099s and tax returns.
* Collaborate with the Assistant Controller on year-end audit requests and special projects, ensuring AP reconciliations are completed on time.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, with direct exposure to accounts payable and supervisory roles.
* Experience in a professional services firm is preferred, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory position.
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, staff, and vendors.
* Proven ability to lead and supervise teams, including hiring, training, assigning tasks, managing performance, and disciplining when necessary.
* Advanced knowledge of local sales and use tax rules, as well as intermediate knowledge of automated financial management systems.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (or equivalent training and experience), with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and other Windows applications.
