Purpose of the Position:

Under the general direction of the cook staff, this position may perform production duties such as baking, roasting, frying, etc. It will also perform other duties such as stocking, dish room operation, trash removal and mopping.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:



  • Ability to read and comprehend recipes, lists, and production needs

  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment

  • Knowledge of safety and sanitization procedures

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures

  • Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processed are used

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a fairly continuous basis

  • Ability to wear protective footwear


Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :


Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma





Experience:

  • Experience in the food service industry

Conditions of Employment:

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;

Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program;


Selected candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends;


Selected candidate must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time;


Selected candidate must have the ability to work in extreme temperatures;
