Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, phone, and customer service support to the Housing & Residence Life Office. The Administrative Assistant will greet visitors, respond to emails, answer phones, and serve as a resource to answer general questions regarding the processes of the Housing & Residence Life department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for Associate Director of Residence Life as needed
Assist with departmental special projects
Compose, review and edit correspondence
Respond to inquiries from clients and other University departments.
Serve as backup for other office support positions
Utilize office software, ex. The Housing Director (THD), Roompact, and Notifii
Take dictation as requested by administrators
Required Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office software
Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Highly organized, self-directed, and motivated
Ability to prepare and manage professional level correspondence
Perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy within scheduled deadlines
Effective communication with diverse groups of people
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
1-year related experience in customer service and administrative support
Valid driver's license
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or certification related to office administration or related field
1+ years prior related experience
Experience and training with dictation
