The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design and development of production tools and/or machines and for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling. The Manufacturing Engineer supports new programs by developing new processes, tooling, machinery, and/or production controls. The Manufacturing Engineer sets up new equipment to ensure that quality specifications are met or exceeded and teaches others to use the equipment safely.
Responsibilities
Set up new equipment that meets/exceeds all safety and quality requirements
Designs fixtures, tooling, and/or machinery for use in a production environment
Develops routings and procedures for production components
Solve production related issues
Works closely with QA to resolve product quality issues
Drives continuous improvement process to improve safety, quality, and reduce cost
Stay up to date concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigates their potential applications.
Responsible for designing plant, department, and area layouts to optimize space.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering/Technology from an accredited university
Through understanding of G,D, and T methodology
Knowledge of modern fabrication and machine shop practices and techniques
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing
Experience with capital appropriation evaluations and analysis
