Job Description:

The Senior Director, Pre-Sales Support, is part of our Government Solutions team in the Equifax Workforce Solutions. He/she will manage a team that provides use case and technical support to sales as a subject matter expert (SME), recommend client/opportunity approach and provide recommendations on product approach. They will work closely with Strategy, Market Insight, Customer Insight, and Product teams to define and architect enterprise solutions that leverage Equifax products, drive insights and address the missions of government agencies and state organizations. The Senior Director should understand Equifax and competitor products and solutions, and ensure team members are knowledgeable about features, functions and technical solutions. He/she will also work closely with Product Manager and other product owners to understand product visions and functional requirements of individual point solutions

The preferred location for this role is Reston, VA.

What you'll do


  • Manage a team of solutions SMEs who consult with clients on policy, technical needs, analytical or specialized product lines/verticals
  • Support and oversee the team's contribution of content for the proposal process to demonstrate capabilities and services, including driving best practices, timeliness, and continued improvement..
  • Manage a team that leverages our understanding of the customer's needs and requirements and is capable of translating business requirements into business solutions that help optimize the value of our solutions for our clients.
  • Ensure the team's continued collaboration working with other COEs and project and program managers to successfully deliver our solutions into production.
  • Proactively engage multiple levels of management to ensure team is on track for meeting revenue goals/targets and is positioned for long-term success
  • Provide coaching, training and oversight as needed for the consultants' job responsibilities including strategic account planning, client discovery, solution development, proposal writing, client presentations and project management.
  • Develop and maintain senior level relationships whereby Equifax can be viewed as a trusted advisor, specific to industry trends, best practices, thought leadership and other relevant areas of interest.
  • Serve in an internal consulting support capacity for marketing and product development initiatives related to new solutions including pricing strategies, product positioning, industry assessment and internal training.
  • Fully understand the changing economic and regulatory environment and present solutions that address current challenges.
  • Responsible for leading the development and delivery of technical and solution based content on all bids and supporting the estimation of all system deployments, training, upgrades, expansions, etc.

What experience you need

  • 5-10 years domain experience with federal and/or state government
  • 5-7 years relevant experience in an environment supporting sales
  • 1-3 years leadership experience, directly supervising a team
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout sales territory

  • Experience with our current Federal and State customers
  • Knowledge of the self attestation and 1099 Gig market
  • Experience in the identity/fraud domain
  • Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs/RFPs
  • Experience and familiarity of our products and line of business a plus
  • Demonstrated experience presenting in front of high profile clients (state/government agencies, large corporations, etc.)
  • Strong communication (verbal/analytical) and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with team members
  • Expert knowledge of industry trends and initiatives
  • Demonstrated initiative in creating solutions to meet client and market needs
  • Ability to interpret complex documents and information
  • The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology.
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
