Role

Responsible for performing day-to-day network administrative duties including monitoring of network. Recommends and performs network equipment upgrades and patches. Provides technical support and guidance to users. Responsible for configuring, diagnosing, and maintaining internal and external data and voice network infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Analyzes and resolves network hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. Monitors the hardware to ensure it is properly maintained according to FFIEC guidelines.

  • Work with infrastructure service providers and vendors to identify and resolve communications issues.

  • Administer network infrastructure, configuration standards, and related documentation.

  • Perform network hardware upgrades and patches on a regular scheduled basis or as required.

  • Follow internal change management methodology by adhering to documentation and production change control processes when implementing product enhancements and maintenance to ensure a stable production environment.

  • Maintains knowledge, skills and competence in areas of responsibilities and keeps abreast of current trends and developments in network software and hardware technologies.

  • Prepare project documentation and status updates as required. Create and updates network diagrams and communication systems documentation when changes are implemented. Provide updates to disaster recovery procedures for network and communications systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Experience


  • Three to five years of experience with building, supporting and establishing complex data and voice networks utilizing Cisco related network and voice products.

  • Advanced knowledge of network topologies, network operating software and hardware. Previous participation and oversight in network related projects. Advanced understanding of Cisco IP telephone system.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree is preferred. Cisco certification is preferred.

Skills


  • A working knowledge of Firewall, Intrusion Detections and other security best practices is imperative.

  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications require shorter and not in-depth discussions most of the time.
