Overview:
The Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement and management of machine components or electronic components across multiple operating companies within our industrial manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that drive cost savings, ensure supply chain efficiency, and support our overall business objectives. This role demands a deep understanding of industrial components, metals, and market trends, along with strong leadership and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for electronic components aligning with organizational goals and market trends. Drive initiatives to optimize the supply chain and enhance procurement performance across all operating companies.
Identify, evaluate, and engage with suppliers to build strong partnerships. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage relationships to ensure the highest standards of quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements with suppliers, focusing on securing favorable terms and conditions. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics. Utilize insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to achieve budget targets. Monitor and analyze spending patterns, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Work closely with engineering, production, and other internal teams to understand their requirements and ensure that procurement strategies support their needs. Facilitate effective communication and coordination between different operating companies.
Identify potential risks in the supply chain related to machine components and metals. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply and minimize disruptions.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to category management. Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on category performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CPM) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or procurement within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on machine components and metals. Experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
Proven track record in developing and executing category strategies.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of electronic components and supply chain dynamics.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
