Responsibilities
Our Sensors Development team designs technologies that can accurately and reliably sense dangerous atmospheres through various chemical phenomena. This challenging but exciting work allows our customers to detect explosive or toxic gases, monitor occupational exposures and emissions, and ultimately, safeguard workers and their communities.
Our co-ops and interns work alongside experienced engineers to design and test products, deploy analytical and material characterization techniques, and solve real-world problems. Specific responsibilities include:
Learn about the statistical analysis and characterization techniques used in sensor development
Hands-on experience with lab and test equipment
Provide support to and develop improvement ideas for existing products & processes
Design and set-up product validation tests and document test results
Collaborate with domestic & international associates to complete project goals
Qualifications
Required
Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field at an ABET-accredited school and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year
Hands-on technical aptitude & some prior experience in a chemistry/chemical lab
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to structure time, organize tasks, and execute against a deadline
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
A desire to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred
Experience with statistical analysis tools (Minitab or similar)
Test experience (design, execution, and analysis)
Hands-on wet chemistry experience
