Job Description

The Healthcare Transformation Institute is seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager C (PM-C) with strong research, management and administrative skills to provide autonomous oversight for multiple grant-funded projects. The PM-C will provide leadership, project management, administrative support, and expertise to plan and implement multiple research studies. These projects are diverse in focus, currently encompassing - machine learning, Medicare Data, and geriatric oncology - and include both retrospective and prospective studies and multi-site trials across the health system. This position will be responsible for oversight of all grant activities for these research studies for our Investigators including management of day-to-day research activities, IRB and regulatory requirements and the training and supervision of research staff varying in level of seniority and skill-set (i.e. Research Assistants, Clinical Research Coordinators, Project Managers, Data Scientists) in the completion of their duties as required. The PM-C will be responsible for managing and tracking multiple study budgets as well as managing the timely submission of grant reporting to the sponsors. The PM-C will meet regularly with study leadership (internal and external) to provide study updates but will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. The role will include frequent contact with external collaborators to manage the execution of agreements and subcontracts and will assist with presenting work at national meetings. Moreover, the PM-C role will work closely with entities and study sites from across Penn Medicine including (but not limited to) Penn Medicine Princeton Health, Lancaster General Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital, and the Abramson Cancer Center. This role will manage a more significant portfolio of projects in the future and if the need arises, may provide oversight of Academic related responsibilities as well. The successful candidate will possess keen analytical insight, the ability to triage work projects and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment characterized by tight deadlines.

Qualifications



  • Master of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Must show progressively responsible project management and supervisory experience, preferably in an academic institution managing projects, as well as demonstrated leadership of complex projects.

  • Must show ability to work with multiple stakeholders to coordinate and achieve goals, and form strong business relationships with collaborators.

  • Ability to develop implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient research processes.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse and close-working team in a fast-paced, leadership setting requiring initiative, strong organization, flexibility, sound judgment, and the prioritization of multiple demands.

  • Successful candidates will have the ability to anticipate problems relating to projects and to develop and implement solutions, as well as handling complex problems related to business strategy.

  • Flexibility and drive to meet project deadlines required.

  • Ability to exercise diplomacy, tact, and judgment in interacting with a wide range of constituents at varying levels of an organization.

  • Able to confidently interact with all levels of management including senior management, physician leaders and others Excellent verbal/written communication skills required.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong understanding of institutional and federal compliance requirements related to research desired.
