Job Description


A member of the Ohio Union Events team, the Audiovisual Coordinator serves to further the departments goal of providing exemplary customer service for client event needs. This position will support audiovisual (AV) needs for two key areas: the Ohio Union and North Residential District meeting room spaces. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management and execution of AV support for programs occurring in approximately 40 Residence Life meeting room spaces; scheduling, managing, and training student staff on AV equipment and equipment set up for events within those spaces; works with the Ohio Union Events staff to prepare meeting and event spaces; consults with event planning coordinators and clients on AV needs and options to best achieve desired results; management and maintenance of all associated equipment; coordinates, communicates and plans AV service options with clients prior to events; manages all AV and technical event set-ups for events; assists during presentations and events with equipment including digital projectors, laptops and PC's, sound systems, lighting, projector screens and smart podiums. Will be required to work a flexible work week, which includes evenings and weekends.





Minimum Education Required


High School diploma or GED






Required Qualifications

Years of relevant experience required: 4
(4 with Associate degree)
Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 6+



Desired: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with management and operation of AV equipment including sound systems, computer presentations, and light systems. Experience in event planning; ability to troubleshoot problems; coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs; supervisory experience; experience working in university setting, specifically in a student union.
