Warehouse Area Supervisor - Yardbird at Best Buy in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description:

As a Warehouse Area Supervisor at Yardbird, you'll be responsible for providing support and oversight to an area and working alongside your team to ensure the goals of the day are met. This role will also work closely with other Area Managers and leaders of the warehouse to assist other departments when need and help ensure the safety of all employees.

What you'll doWork most of the time on the floor with your teamsIdentify issues or areas for improvement in process and find resolutionsIdentify discrepancies on pick lists and report them to the necessary teamsImplement and enforce quality control procedures to help mitigate errorsCreate and control standard operating procedures for future hires and retrainingEnsure proper staff is available to maintain daily inventory output. Responsible for leading a team to provide clear deliverables and expectations
Basic qualificationsAble to stay on your feet for the entire shiftAble to lift and move objects up to 75 poundsAble to lift boxes ranging from 200-300 pounds as part of a teamMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings or weekend hours, during our peak season (March-August)1 year experience in distribution, operations, warehousing, customer service or related field
Preferred qualificationsPrevious warehouse supervisor/lead experienceFamiliarity with modern warehousing practices and methodsEffective communication, organizational and time management skillsAbility to operate pallet jacks, platform trucks and other necessary warehouse equipment
