Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for supporting the advancement of new and existing products within Product Development, while also supporting the needs of Marketing for Tradeshows. More specifically on the Product Development side, they will participate in the fabrication and evaluation of prototypes and concepts. They will oversee a product testing schedule, including functional, accelerated life, abusive and ultimate testing, as well as the generation of thorough documentation and reports to capture and share what is learned. Documentation will be stored in a manner which provides for easy retrieval. They will be responsible for providing feedback and insight to engineers, as well as ensuring clear and timely communication regarding the queue, and where customers' requests stand. They will advocate for a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the factory. On the Marketing side, they will support up to 15 different trade shows per year, as well as maintain more than 30 different inventoried pieces of equipment available to our dealers for customer demonstration purposes. Roughly 60% of resource time will be spent working on Product Development projects with the remaining 40% on Marketing projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Development
Fabricate, assemble & test engineering prototypes
Conduct and document product tests and evaluations to ensure quality
Perform Troubleshooting, Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
Manage the testing queue
Respond quickly to service requests and efficiently troubleshoot potential issues
Manage test floor space utilization to promote safety, efficiency, and productivity
Support migration of new designs from Product Development to production
Assist production personnel with new product integration and identify process improvements
Champion an organized, clean, and safe working environment in the factory
Participate in department projects as requested
Participate on company teams as requested
Marketing
Participate in tradeshow planning meetings
Construction and repair of tradeshow equipment
Packing tradeshow equipment and loading on truck
Traveling to and from tradeshows
Setting up and taking down tradeshow equipment
Receiving, sorting & reorganizing returned tradeshow equipment for next use
Dismantle, repair, and repack training equipment used for installation exercises
Receiving, repair, repacking, and storage of dealer demo equipment for next use
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two-year electrical technical degree, preferred
2+ years of electro-mechanical fabrication, assembly, and test experience
Ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality requirements
Self-sufficient
Ability to give and take direction
Task management skills
Strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong attention to detail
Lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to travel
Mechanical fabrication and assembly experience, preferred
Fork truck certification, preferred
Ability to read drawings, including GD&T and welding symbols, preferred
Solidworks, preferred
AutoCAD, preferred
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), preferred
Material handling product knowledge, preferred
Material handling equipment installation, preferred
