RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is looking for a Scala Software Developer to join their team in Greenwood Village, CO.

Responsibilities:

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience


• Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas


• Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary


• Tests and reviews system designs


• Mentors and guides the work of technical staff


• Takes ownership and makes technical decisions on software development projects


• Develops and implements software according to proposals provided


• Estimates scope of work


• Creates project documentation as requested


• Implements software proposals

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required


• Demonstrable in-depth capability as a software engineer: 7+ years


• Experience working with open-source software such as Spring, Tomcat, and NoSQL solutions


• Databases (Relational and NoSQL), RESTful web services, AWS, Microservices, Netflix OSS, Jersey, SOAP web services, Axis, JMS, ESB's, XML, XSD, XSL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Apache open-source libraries, Maven, Git, Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ, continuous integration testing, shell scripting; Any NoSQL is okay - elastic search would be wonderful


• Agile experience


• Scala


• Java


• Jira


• Gitlab or any other relevant repository


• Thorough understanding of software engineering and object oriented design principles


• Strong and current development experience in Java and web technologies


• Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects


• Familiarity with dependency management and build systems like Gradel number one - Maven and Ant okay but Gradel is what they are using now


• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English


• Hands on approach


• Nice to have - Python would be awesome

• Ec2/vpc/Security Groups


• Nat gateways


• S3


• Autoscaling


• Load balancers


• Lambda


• CloudFront


• IAM


• Certificate manager


• CloudWatch


• route53 (or any dns really but nice to have it all in one place and only the basics for this one)

• EMR is nice to have

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
