Position Summary
Dr. Megan Reiter's group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of star and planet formation.
The Star and Planet Formation group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University seeks to hire one or more postdoctoral researchers. Successful candidates will work in the group of Prof. Megan Reiter. Ongoing research activities include infrared and optical surveys of protostellar jets, young stellar objects, and planet-forming disks in high-mass star-forming regions. Theoretically/numerically oriented researchers and candidates with previous experience in integral field-unit spectroscopy and millimeter interferometry are encouraged to apply.
Rice University hosts a small but vibrant research program studying the origins of stars and planets. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to interact with Profs. Andrea Isella, Patrick Hartigan, Christopher M. Johns-Krull, and Andre Izidoro.
A Ph.D. degree in astronomy, physics, or a related subject by the appointment start is required. The position is initially for one year, with a possibility of re-appointment for two additional years depending on performance assessment and funding availability. The appointment is expected to start no later than October 2025.

Workplace Requirements : This is an in-person at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Position may require occasional extended work hours (e.g. after 5:00 PM and/or weekends) in order to meet project deadlines. Additionally, this position is funded by a grant, soft and/or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of funding.
