Position: Quality Control Lead Analyst Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor

Summary:
Under general supervision, the Quality Control Lead Analyst acts as relief for vacations, sick time, and cross-training for Quality Control Analyst, Quality Physical Analyst, and Quality Chemical Analyst positions. Completes all testing, data interpretation, documentation, responsibilities, and other roles of the position for which they are performing. Performs other testing and related laboratory functions as needed and assures accurate record keeping and documentation of all test results. Works as part of the lab team to ensure that products and results are consistently meeting quality standards.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Observes all applicable safety policies and regulations.
Follow housekeeping standards and 5S in the designated areas and in the laboratory.
Analyzes results given by Quality Control Analysts, Quality Chemical Analyst and Quality Physical Analyst.
Ensures Quality Control Supervisor and Manager are fully informed on all quality and deviation issues.
Maintains adequate supply of all necessary materials.
To work effectively as a team member in the areas of safety, environment, and timely communications with other departments to help meet the goals of the Quality Control Department and the plant.
Prepares graphs, charts, and other reports as directed. Maintains and processes pertinent paperwork and records for organized file and retrieval purposes.
Participates in employee development and cross-training programs.
Understands and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all quality calculations.
Performs additional non-routine testing for research when necessary.
Operates, calibrates and performs minor repairs on laboratory and field-testing equipment when necessary.
Serves as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company's vision and critical success factors.
Assists in development and implementation of additional training tools, such as calculation spreadsheets, troubleshooting guidelines, SOP's, training material, etc.
Enforces and monitors Quality Control personnel cleaning schedule, sampling schedule, and safety documentation
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
Ability to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and similar information.
Knowledge of and ability to comply with ASTM standards and testing procedures.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, and make accurate corrections based on the data analyzed.
Knowledge of basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must successfully complete on-the-job training provided by designated supervision or otherwise qualified individuals.
Ability to accurately use all laboratory equipment used in performing various tests such as balances, burets, flasks, jet sieves, and other related equipment.
Ability to use a personal computer for record-keeping and calculations. Must be familiar with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk over rough and uneven surfaces and climb stairs.
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
