Job Description:

Task Description: Aircraft Mechanic II (23022): Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing of contractor employee technical proficiency is not required.

Skills and Knowledge: The Contractor shall be able to provide Intermediate level (I-Level) repair support for the, T56 Power Section Assembly (PSA), T56 Reduction Gear Assembly (RGA), T56 Torquemeter (T/M), T56 Turbine Unit Change Assembly (TUCA) and T-56 Quick Engine Change Assembly (QECA). All these items comprise the T56-A-16 series Turboprop Engine.

Task Requirements:


  • Repair T56-A-16 QECA and T56-A-16 Modules Perform aircraft engine inspections
  • Engine maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
  • Complete engine and engine module tear down and build up, operational check Corrosion control
  • Troubleshooting
  • Preservation and de-preservation
  • General engine maintenance
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Tool control and upkeep
  • Repair, maintain, modify and overhaul aircraft engines and engine modules not mounted on aircraft.
  • Fuel Surveillance Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention
  • Maintain Support Equipment (SE)
  • Operate SE
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment as appropriate for task(s)
  • Use HAZMAT as appropriate for task(s)
  • Perform general housekeeping
  • May perform duties at Engine Test Cell Perform other duties as assigned or directed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven or more years' maintenance experience on T56-A-16
  • Collateral Duty Inspector

Basic Qualifications:

  • Qualified Aviation Power Plant Mechanic
  • Aircraft Mechanic II shall have a minimum of 5 years specialized C/KC-130T T56 Series repair maintenance experience and airframe depot artisan experience to address repairs to QEC.
  • Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift schedule if required.
  • Must be able work flexible work-week schedules i.e. M-F or as required.
  • Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC) Satisfactory completion National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquires (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance
  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools.
  • Must have dexterity to handle small parts.

Compensation

$35.18/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked.
