The Production Maintenance Supervisor is directly responsible for the Safety and Performance of the Maintenance Mechanics on the shift the supervisor is working. The Supervisor will also be responsible for the maintenance (Preventive, Reactive and Deferred) of production equipment lines throughout the plant. The Supervisor will communicate with Production Supervision to determine priorities and notify Production and Maintenance Management of instances that will require escalation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct routine Safety Audits of areas, outlining potential safety concerns including work practices, equipment issues, PPE compliance, etc.
Adhere to Leader Standard Work requirements as outlined by Maintenance Management.
Hire, train, evaluate and develop maintenance personnel
Provides day to day direction to technical staff in all areas and all shifts regarding assignments and projects.
Hire, evaluate and provide performance feedback to Maintenance personnel.
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
Control costs by ensuring maintenance procedures are followed, eliminating unnecessary activities.
Identify opportunities for equipment performance improvement, develops alternate solutions to potential problems and develops and implements resolution plans.
Coordinate programs/projects with Plant Engineering and all other appropriate functional departments within the plant. Provide/manage resources for implementing key business unit projects.
Ensure compliance to company guidelines/rules and regulatory requirements.
Work on special projects as they arise.
Research and develop training and procedures, implement change control documentation as required for safety or equipment reliability.
Other tasks (dispatch, etc) as required by Maintenance Management.
Must be able to pass Vision and Hearing tests to include color and depth perception.
Knowledge & Skills
Computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Will also accept alternative education/experience as noted:
Associate degree with 3 years maintenance experience, preferably as a supervisor.
High School Diploma with 6 years of maintenance, technical trade or licensed trade experience, preferably as a supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
