Volt is immediately hiring for Machinist Technician in Houston, TX.
Schedule: 7-3:30 PM Mon-Fri
As a Machinist Technician:
- Operate CNC machines to produce machined components based on dimensional drawings and blueprints
- Execute tasks with exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Showcase a strong mechanical aptitude and a quick ability to learn new skills
- Always prioritize safety, adhering to the machine shop and manufacturing safety practices
- Collaborate seamlessly with team members to ensure efficient production workflows
- Exhibit dependability and a strong work ethic within a minimum 40-hour work
- week
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Perform tasks that may involve lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs. while
- standing throughout the day
- Utilize basic Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and email skills for documentation
- Embrace problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Prior experience operating manual lathes and/or mills
- Experience with live tooling is a plus
- Proficiency in machining software and intermediate to advanced GD&T understanding
- Comfort with hands-on mechanical activities
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Exposure to a factory/production/manufacturing setting is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $25.00 HOURLY
