Job Description:

The Production Supervisor, working under limited supervision from the Production and Assistant Production Manager, is responsible for developing daily production schedules and overseeing employee activities to meet production and shipping goals. This role ensures production runs efficiently, maintaining quality, safety, and sanitation standards. The Supervisor will also manage resources and coordinate with multiple teams to secure the company's assets and maintain compliance with union contracts and applicable laws.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



I. PRODUCTION

  • Allocate production resources to ensure products meet the highest quality standards at the lowest possible cost while adhering to specifications.
  • Communicate production requirements, priorities, and work orders clearly to production teams.
  • Coordinate the production schedule, estimate machine and labor needs, and assign duties accordingly.
  • Oversee the setup and adjustment of production lines and machinery.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, worker performance, product quality, and plant sanitation.
  • Analyze production challenges and resolve work-related issues.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors to coordinate shift and crew activities.
  • Work closely with the laboratory to address quality concerns.
  • Liaise with maintenance regarding equipment issues or concerns.


  • II. SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES

  • Fully utilize the production work-order system and generate additional reports as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records documenting production activities and cost control measures.
  • Establish or modify production procedures to meet new demands or improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and implement operational procedures and policies.
  • Plan and deliver training to production employees and evaluate their performance.
  • Conduct regular tailgate meetings with production teams.
  • Continuously monitor, document, and evaluate operations to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit written reports on production activities.


  • III. OTHER

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


  • QUALIFICATIONS:



    1. Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Five years of related experience required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer applications is desirable.

    2. Language Skills

    • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Strong writing and communication skills.
    • Ability to present information effectively to groups of employees.

    3. Mathematical Skills

    • Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, proportions, and volumes.
    • Understanding of basic algebra and geometry for budgeting purposes.

    4. Reasoning Ability

    • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Capable of resolving problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    5. Other Requirements

    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Valid California Driver's license with a clean driving record.
    Monday through Friday. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, maybe some overtime if needed, but usually M- F.

    We have a harvest season from August - to November no time off is approved

    Flexible to work all three shifts.

    1st shift 8am-4:30pm

    Swing 3:30pm-12am

    grave 11:30pm - 8am

    during harvest season supervisors are required to work 6-7 days a week

    Min of two years experience

    Pay: $22-$25

    Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
