Primary Responsibility The Senior Enrollment Services Specialist/ESL Advisor I is a combined full-time position at the Summit campuses where duties and responsibilities will be in both areas and hours may fluctuate depending on specific needs to serving students. Under the direction of campus Student Affairs leadership, the Senior Enrollment Services Specialist is responsible for staffing the front office, answering phones, providing personalized assistance to all walk-in visitors, and delivering general customer service to students, staff, and faculty. Additional duties include assisting with student recruitment, enrollment processes, registration, financial aid guidance, and record keeping. The role also requires the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and administration at the assigned campus. Under the direction of campus Student Affairs leadership, the Academic Advisor I for ESLs responsibilities include working directly with targeted populations including English as a Second Language students to provide support and maximize student success, retention and completion. This position ensures successful and accurate enrollment and registration for ESL students as well as integration and coordination with academic and student services regarding testing, scholarships, and grant management. Prerequisites for the Position (Qualifications Standards) Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples include a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution and two years related work experience; or, Associates Degree and three years related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and four years related work experience or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. Previous admissions and recruitment experience preferred. Special Skills or abilities related to positions: Provide academic and collegiate mentoring of college students; data collection and analysis of student performance and related work; strong written, verbal, analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to positively interact and engage students in an academic setting that is welcoming and responsive to students academic and career goals. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of and skills related to standard Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with other software such as Access, Publisher, Photoshop, and other design software helpful. Operate variety of office equipment; proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail; meet deadlines; strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Hiring range = $55,484.24 - $61,626.93* ($26.67 - $29.63 per hour) annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidates skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidates qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. *Bilingual (Spanish/English) or conversational language abilities required. The position will come with an additional 5% bilingual (Spanish/English) pay differential. The finalist will be required to complete language skill testing to verify bilingual skills. Position anticipated to close on November 5, 2024, or until filled. Minimum Qualifications: Essential Duties: Senior Enrollment Services Specialist (70%) Assists with Admissions planning, organization, and coordinating of student registration activities including Campus Tours, Visit Days, New Student Registration Events, New Student Orientation concurrent enrollment students, and Graduation Processing and maintenance of student records. General administrative tasks and procedures including maintaining lists and files, data collection, data analysis, and preparing reports; scheduling; and student-focused service. Other duties as assigned. Recruiting, pre-enrollment, and student services activities such as: Processing student admissions applications Organizing applicant communications Coordinates with Central Services Admissions on the scheduling of local high school visits and assists in the recruiting of local students Works closely with other departments to provide services to onboard new students Assists with the development and coordination of admissions processes and procedures Assists in student recruiting and pre-enrollment follow-up; follows-up with prospective students via phone and email Evaluates and processes admissions applications including assisting students with tuition classification questions and determining tuition classification Coordinates communication with applicant including phone calls, emails and mailings Assists with Admissions planning, organization, and coordinating of student registration activities including Campus Tours, Visit Days, New Student Registration Events, New Student Orientation concurrent enrollment students, and Graduation Other duties as assigned. General Student Services Coordination and Front Office support activities such as: Staffing front office daily through on-site presence and acting as the primary front office representative and lead front office staff member at the Dillon site. Coordinates new student orientations with faculty and staff Coordinates programs, projects, events, and special activities Assist with Front Line Financial Aid Counseling, including CASFA & FAFSA assistance; general counseling on financing options; provides FA Self-Serve support and guidance, serves as back up for Financial Aid May serve as a lead for other front desk staff, admissions aides and/or supervise work study students Performs clerical and technical support duties; prepares and submits reports; assists in maintaining automated systems and data files Serves on committees Performs other duties as assigned. Academic Advisor I for ESL & HSE (30%) Direct support of targeted CMC students Establish positive and trusting relationships with target students. Advise and assist in academic planning with target students. Along with student services team, beginning with orientation each year, coordinate and/or provide services to support success, persistence and completion among target population. Present and/or coordinate workshops on a variety of topics that supplement and support instructional curriculum. Facilitate student success by creating peer networks among target students. Foster student accountability, self-advocacy, self-awareness, and effective use of resources. Provide opportunities for target students and their families to attend social, educational and cultural events. Record Keeping, Data Collection and Analysis Maintain system to monitor and track target student progress Utilize well-organized records in order to best assist individual target students, as well to provide analytics to guide retention and completion initiatives. Campus Communication and Collaboration Solicit student feedback to guide continuous improvement of services. Communicate with campus student services leadership about the progress and needs of target students. Outreach Meet local ESL & HSE students, and connect prospective students to CMC admission processes, including financial aid, academic advising, and academic and student support services. Collaborate with community and campus partners to maintain and strengthen student support network and training pipeline. Other duties as assigned. Supervision Received This position receives supervision from a designated campus student affairs professional. Supervisory Responsibility This position will serve as lead to others but will not directly supervise others. Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report is required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties as assigned. The College Navigator/Enrollment Services Specialist position will require some travel and evening/weekend hours. Working Conditions This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally.
