SiLC is a high-tech company with an immediate opening for a full-time on-site Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer to be a part of a dynamic and experienced team focused on building a revolutionary 4D sensing solution. This person will be responsible for test and bring up of complex circuits in analog, mixed-signal, and digital domains. The candidate is required to have an established background in electronics. The candidate should have strong communication skills as he or she will interface with our development team leads and senior management, as well as our exceptional team of hardware design engineers.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, and Optics Design Engineers to understand the functionality of a circuit and test it against system requirements
Identify key circuit blocks for systematic testing of large circuit boards
Own a circuit board throughout its life cycle; help with debugging, revision suggestions, revision tracking, and inventory management
Collect lidar data using the complete digital system, analog electronics, integrated photonics, and bulk optics
Analyze and post-process the data to extract critical circuit related performance limitations and collaborate with the design team on fixing them
Perform hands-on verification and debug of hardware/firmware
Document the results and communicate it to technical staff
Qualifications:
B.Sc./M.Sc. with 4+ years of industry experience
Familiarity with Altium Designer
Experience with testing complex analog, RF, mixed-signal, and digital circuit boards
Understanding of basic circuit performance metrics such as noise, linearity, crosstalk, power supply rejection ratio, and more
Experienced with circuit testing using a range of lab instruments such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, etc.
Inventory and BoM management experience
Good technical writing skills for documenting design specifications
Preferred Qualification:
PCB design background
Experience with building and maintaining Altium libraries
Familiarity with electronics for optical interfaces
Background in lidar or FMCW radar
Expertise in Automotive Electronics and high-quantity production testing
Familiar with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C, Verilog/System Verilog
Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, Vivado, and SDK
Experience with signal processing for communication, radar, or lidar systems
