The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead cross-functional teams to define and execute industrial / supply chain/ continuous improvement programs to improve cost competitiveness, efficiency of processes, practices and organizations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads Continuous Improvement program deployment across three Mines & associated processing plants located in Lompoc, CA, Fernley, NV, and Quincy, WA by improving working conditions with must haves and generating margin improvement
Cultivates and promotes a strong continuous improvement culture across
Supports analysis of processes and practices to enable safety / efficiency / quality continuous improvement initiative generation, also with the support of Imerys Center Of Excellence and other Business Area Center Of Excellence
Generates detailed continuous improvement initiatives across the plants to generate savings with the cooperation of plant managers.
Provides technical support and expertise to on-site teams for Continuous Improvement deployment and improvement projects
Monitors progress of continuous improvement projects and related savings, including process management improvement, process modification, energy optimization
Maintains and creates appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis
Provides Mentorship to Operation Sites & Supply Chain team members to support continuous improvement deployment
Captures and communicates learning to enable best practice transfer within his/her Business Area and the other Business Areas
Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with BA Industrial VP, Hub Operations Directors, Imerys Center Of Excellence
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years experience in Operations Management, Operational Excellence program management, process engineering, and related areas
Strong Continuous Improvement culture and methods (project management, Kaizen, 6-sigma, value stream mapping, Fish-Bone diagram, BBZ, working capital optimization)
Strong Analytical Skills, incl. Research
Strong Problem Solving Skills
Strong Project Management Skills
Technical / Process Expertise
Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization
Able to organize training paths for managers of in the hubs
Green / Black belt- Preferred
Approximately 30% travel (could include some International)
California Salary Range: $80k USD - $135k USD
