Job Description:

Hybrid Role, Washington DC.

Eliassen Group is supporting a large government integrator in the search of an Enterprise Architect. This will be onsite twice a week in D.C. and must be W2. It will also be a 6 month contract to hire. Due to the nature of the work this candidate will be sponsored for a Public Trust clearance which can take 4-9 weeks to obtain.

As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the technological landscape of our federal client. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around performing comprehensive technical and service planning and analysis, aligning with client requirements and business objectives. By leveraging your expertise in enterprise architecture, you will provide strategic recommendations for new applications, infrastructure enhancements, tools, upgrades, and services. These recommendations will undergo approval by the Government, ensuring alignment with client's overarching vision and strategy.

Top Qualifications, Skills, and Certifications:
  • 15+ years of IT experience, including a minimum of 5 years in Enterprise Architecture and related components.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (or an additional 6 years of related experience in lieu of the degree).
  • Expertise in designing architecture solutions that align network, compute, storage, cloud, database, software, security, and more to meet complex business needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects, support future planning, and stay informed on standard architecture frameworks, particularly within government or enterprise environments.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Analysis:
  • Conduct technical and service planning, ensuring availability, capacity, performance, IT continuity, and disaster recovery services.
  • Provide recommendations for new technology implementations and upgrades, backed by detailed analysis.
  • Deliver Quarterly Management Reports to stakeholders, offering insights into utilization trends, capacity assessments, and rollout plans.

Technology Monitoring & Research:
  • Stay abreast of emerging technical trends through independent research.
  • Evaluate products and services to align them with business and technology strategies.
  • Participate in planning sessions to establish standards, architecture frameworks, and project initiatives.

Requirements Gathering & Management:
  • Lead interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather user requirements regarding performance, availability, maintainability, and IT continuity.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering activities, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.

Design & Documentation:
  • Define Migration Acceptance Test Criteria and configuration change test criteria.
  • Develop, document, and maintain Technical Design Plans and Environment Configuration based on project specifications, ensuring alignment with IT architecture, security, and disaster recovery mandates.
  • Maintain comprehensive design documentation accessible to stakeholders.

Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Review and coordinate design plans with technology standards groups and design architects to ensure alignment with organizational standards and best practices.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly preferred.
