POSITION:

Purchasing Manager - Seedling and Sage

As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading our team to success and ensuring the

highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This is a full time position with an office at one

of our venues, Flourtown Country Club. The manager is responsible for the overall purchasing and

vendor management for the Seedling & Sage Catering. Also directs housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, and assures the banquet team has all operational tools needed to execute successful events. Opportunity to expand

to multiple properties.

DESCRIPTION:
• Coordinates and manages the overall operations of the Purchasing, Receiving and Inventory

Management to ensure that all departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties in

an efficient manner. Includes but not limited to: Bar/Beverage, Food, Paper, Linens, China,

Glassware, Tableware
• Vendor Management including not limited to pest control, waste management, beverage

purveyors, kitchen equipment maintenance vendors, etc
• Maintain the highest level of integrity and transparency in dealing with business partners and

ensure that business is awarded fairly.
• Keep abreast of new and alternative products in the market and consult with management on

products to enhance cost effectiveness and quality standards.
• Coordinates and participates as necessary in all month-end, quarterly or annual inventories of

food, beverage, operating equipment and supplies.

? Ensures all function setups and breakdowns are executed correctly, efficiently and

expeditiously

? Has strong attention to detail

? Manages housekeeping, maintenance and in house operations staff

? Weekly meetings - operations and planning

? Maintains binders with upcoming schedule of events, BEOs, etc for interdepartmental use

? Maintains all state and local inspections, certifications, licensing

? Holds team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service

? Coordinates the services of all operational departments and outside vendors to ensure a

successful event for the client

? Basic audio visual set up for events (LCD, screen, podium, microphone)

? Ability to handle guest complaints + challenges

? Manages capital improvements budget

? Training team on opening and closing procedures before and after events

? Assists Executive Team with tasks and projects as needed

Facility
• Overall facility management to assure the venue is cared for and maintained to exceptional

standards
• Schedule cleaning crew before and after events
• Direct facility maintenance personnel on weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks and checklists
• Work with vendors to maintain building like electrician, plumber, HVAC, waste management,

pest control, kitchen equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Orders office supplies, furniture, technology as needed

Controls

? Employs good safety and sanitation practices

? Provides operational planning to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered for

anticipated business levels

? Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment

? Follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies

? Upkeep of current POS system Toast. Manage all accuracy of menu items and costing in

Toast.

? Assists in completing required department reports for month end closing

? Ensures team members adhere to guidelines as stated in team member training manual and

employee handbook

? Forecasts and adequately schedules team members to meet operational needs and desired

targets

? Ensures consumption reports are accurate and timely for each event

? Ensures that all security, safety and sanitation standards are achieved

? Monitors daily business and labor levels to ensure adherence to the budgetary parameters

Team

? Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale

? Interviews, hires, and trains operations staff as needed

? Displays a positive attitude towards team members

Job Requirements

? Must have at least 3 years in hotel, country club or venue management experience

? Must have experience server, bartender, or similar industry experience

? Previous experience with scheduling a plus

? Have an understanding of cost controls and some budgetary knowledge

? Must always maintain a professional appearance and a high service standard.

? Able to prioritize while remaining flexible to complete urgent requests.Able to communicate

effectively with management team, guests and team members

? Need reliable transportation

? Reading, writing, math and computer skills required

? Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products

? Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts nights, weekends, holidays

? Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains

? Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including

stairs) throughout shift

? Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screen and company documents

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk/stand up to the entire day and occasionally sit in meetings or in front of a computer screen. The employee must occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs., reach overhead and have the stamina to work up to 50 hours a week.

Compensation: $65,000-75,000k annually
