They are embarking on an exciting journey to develop a cutting-edge greenfield Operational Technology (OT) program and are seeking a visionary OT Solutions Architect to lead this transformative initiative.
As an OT Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a new OT infrastructure from the ground up. This greenfield project offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our client's operational technology environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT and business stakeholders, to ensure the development of a robust, scalable and secure OT framework. This position can be located in Oak Brook, IL or Toronto, ON.
OT Solutions Architect Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of the OT architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices
Develop and document detailed architectural plans, including system components, interfaces and integration points
Manage the end-to-end implementation of the greenfield OT program, including planning, execution and testing
Oversee the selection and integration of OT technologies, ensuring they meet performance, security and reliability requirements
Engage with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements and ensure the OT solutions meet their needs
Facilitate workshops and presentations to communicate design concepts, progress and changes
Ensure that the OT solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies
Implement best practices for cybersecurity, data privacy and operational resilience
Stay abreast of emerging OT technologies and trends, incorporating relevant advancements into the architecture
Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the OT environment
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them
Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure the OT infrastructure remains secure and effective
OT Solutions Architect Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
5+ years of experience as an OT Solutions Architect or in a similar role with a focus on greenfield projects
Strong knowledge of OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs and IoT devices
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, ProfiBus)
Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and frameworks relevant to OT environments
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Project management experience is a plus
