The role includes establishing strong trade relationships while purchasing the products and service the division needs at the best price and quality, in sufficient quantity, on time so that the division can achieve its sales, quality and profitability objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Individual contributor with purchasing responsibility for sister companies within the construction industry
Create the external purchasing processes for the company
Refine and develop internal company practices and procedures
Extend the use of company accounting system to include purchasing applications
Establish big-picture sourcing strategy
Manage supplier relationships
Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers
Drive cost savings
Provide analytics to support management team
Experience/Education
BS/BA in construction management, business, supply-chain, or similar
5 to 8 years of purchasing experience
Strong analytical skills
Microsoft Office proficiency
Excellent communication skills
Professional demeanor
Construction experience a plus
SAGE accounting system a plus
