As the Managing Director, Head of Investment & Activation, you will play a critical role in leading strategies across investment for a large-scale client with a portfolio of brands (retail, CPG, etc.) and leading excellence in activation across all channels to deliver on client business objectives while driving innovation from an investment standpoint. You'll partner closely with strategy, planning, and marketing science to meet the forces of change in the industry for this major client. This individual will be responsible for advanced and integrated investment strategy and omni-channel activation excellence delivered through the redefinition and implementation of a strategic and systematic approach across Paid Digital, Search, Social, and Retail/Commerce.
Qualifications
15+ years of media experience, preferably at an agency with a track record of successfully driving offline and online investment strategies and running a sizeable, multi-discipline activation team
Demonstrated solid knowledge in buying techniques, audience, measurement, and modern technology such as clean rooms
Authored strategic points of view, and presentations for senior executive clients
Proven experience in driving innovation, thought leadership with enterprise partnerships, improving efficiencies, and productivity, and bringing first-to-market opportunities
Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 100+ people across different disciplines
Strong people leader, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams, being strong in guiding teams through change and transformation, with an eye on talent development, capability building, and culture
Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced environment of multiple priorities
Exhibits executive presence, a progressive mindset to drive transformation
Creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong media advertising and marketing technology understanding
Experience with CPG (consumer packaged goods) is a plus
Responsibilities
Strategic & Functional Skills
Serve as the key point of contact for client leadership and stakeholders, internal OMG teams, Annalect, and external media, measurement, data, and technology partners to elevate investments and delivery of best-in-class media activation
Negotiate and actively contribute to upfront, and define joint business plan strategy based on short-term and mid-term client priorities and opportunities
Develop, own, and expand relationships with internal and cross-agency partners as well as key strategic partners (Google, Amazon, Meta, etc.) to support strategic partnerships, as core of the investment strategy
Operate as an activation subject matter expert within the organization to ensure teams and processes are operating at a high standard, employing best practices, maintaining expertise and adherence to investment operations
Work closely with Strategy, Planning, and Marketing Science and Analytics to ideate on innovation and capability development with media
Continually monitor the landscape for new partners and technologies that can be acquired or deployed to up-level media capabilities
Operate as a transformation agent for client to improve their investments and media strategy and execution
Drive innovation in new areas (new entertainment marketing programs, clean room, data collaboration through partners, custom algorithms, ...)
Master investment operations process and tools such as Prisma, MediaTools, etc.
Foster a culture of continual learning, ensuring direct team members feel strong leadership supporting a respectful environment while challenging them to learn and foster cutting-edge media practices
