Direct reporting: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible for the success of the manufacturing process performed by both CIRCOR Naval Solutions and Portland Valve. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the manufacturing processes of components, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies while meeting all design and quality requirements. This role will also serve as the liaison between Manufacturing Engineering, a department within Operations, and the other functional groups including Engineering & Quality.
You Will:
Define, maintain, and control the technical standards for use by Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers
Define process control requirements and lead PFMEA activities
Support the growth of constructive relationships between all departments of the organization and other CIRCOR locations globally
Create CNC programs with CAM software
Mentor and develop the technical abilities of other CIRCOR employees
Evaluate complex manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from shop floor workforce
Participate in the evaluation, procurement, and start-up of new capital equipment with a focus on modern technology
Lead trouble shooting efforts on and off the shop floor in RCCM activities
Be the prime contact on high-level Manufacturing Engineering projects
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional associations
When requested, take on a leadership role in CIRCOR Operating System (COS) activities
Achieve and hold government clearance as needed
Travel as needed, anticipated as less than 10% of working time
Provide manufacturing and manufacturability input for production planning, design, or repair
Update the ERP system with proper process routing and other manufacturing support information
Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology such as SMED and Kaizen events
Engage with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts to necessary specifications/quality standards and evaluate products according
Design layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency
You Have:

Design machine fixturing for manual and CNC machining equipment
Create repeatability in manufacturing processes
Define and write standard work
Maintain professionalism when faced with challenges and stress
Utilize CAD (Solidworks)
Utilize CAM (Esprit)
Read and interrupt technical drawings understanding GD&T
Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement, with a track record of implementation
A Self-starter, high energy, innovative thinker with disciplined and persistent work style and has a keen attention to detail
A high degree of computer literacy is required with comfortable use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work in both team and individual environments
Education & Experience
Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree in an applicable field plus 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
