Position Overview

The Director of Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the operational success of Butler Academy by overseeing the school's day-to-day operations and supporting the Vice President of Operations. The Director will manage essential functions such as facility operations, technology, compliance, food services, and vendor management. This individual will collaborate closely with the school's leadership team to ensure that the school runs smoothly and that teachers can focus on delivering high-quality instruction to our scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure seamless day-to-day operations. Oversee school facilities, transportation logistics, food services, and security.

  • Team Management: Supervise and support non-teaching staff, including custodial, front office, and IT teams. Train and develop staff, ensuring they operate efficiently and professionally.

  • Facilities & Vendor Management: Manage the physical upkeep of the school, including maintenance, custodial services, and security protocols. Serve as the primary contact for vendors and manage external contracts.

  • Technology Oversight: Collaborate with IT staff and contractors to ensure that technology infrastructure is reliable and supports both academic and administrative functions.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with state regulations and reporting requirements. Work closely with leadership to monitor budgets, financial tracking, and vendor payments.

  • Food Services: Oversee food service operations to ensure that meals meet quality standards and compliance guidelines.

  • Safety & Security: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including the management of security staff and emergency preparedness.

  • Communication & Family Engagement: Work with the school leadership to ensure clear, consistent communication with families regarding school operations, policies, and events.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in school operations or a related administrative role, preferably in a K-12 environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in technology, data management, and operational systems.
  • Experience managing facilities, vendors, and non-teaching staff.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders.
