Unitedcoatings Group is a world leader in the coatings industry and is active, through its different operating business units, in the European, Asian and American continents, with four main divisions: Aerospace, Industrial Gas Turbine, Biomedical, and Equipment.

Position Summary

The Plant General Manager is responsible for the P&L of the plant (30M$ annual revenues), directing and coordinating the business for the daily Operations. She/he will oversee around 140 employees in production, supply chain engineering, maintenance and quality control to make sure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely.

The candidate should have P&L experience and management experience in manufacturing operations on special processes (coatings is preferred), preferably on IGT or Aero-Engines as well as a track record of operational improvements and profit enhancement.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for the financial performance of the plant, including profitability, cash-flow and capital targets.
  2. Leads the organization with rigor, focusing on key operating and financial metrics and continuously improving performance against those metrics.
  3. Runs the plant operations through data, using existing KPI's and implementing new ones as needed.
  4. Ensures the implementation of the company's quality, safety, and human resource management system guidelines in accordance with its procedures and requirements and in accordance with global divisional and group guidelines.
  5. Identifies the resources needed (people, capital, organization, etc.) to make the business successful in the long-term and elaborates the related business plan for top management review.
  6. Builds and enhances a high-performance team that has depth in all functional areas, works effectively as a team and has a strong performance ethic.
  7. Collaborates with the Global Quality team and the Global Technology team of the business to improve critical business processes and share best-practices across the plants.
  8. Collaborates with the Global Sales team of the business to identify ongoing and new customer and market opportunities, and develops the business capability for meeting those customers' needs
  9. May perform other duties as assigned.
  10. Working in the Company's Quality and Safety System context, in accordance with its procedures and requirements.

Work Environment

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.

Travel

Occasional overseas and domestic travel (up to 15%) will be required to support the rapid growth of the company.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Engineering; MBA, advanced degree and/or professional certifications (preferred) or a minimum of 10 years of experience in management.Manufacturing experience is required.

Skills

  1. Have 10+ years of experience in leadership roles in operations gained in an industrial manufacturing environment
  2. Have a track record of P&L management.
  3. Have a strong process-oriented mindset and with strong technical knowledge of special processes of IGT or Aero engines (coating is preferred).
  4. Have track record of tangible improvements on processes and people performance gained through manufacturing or quality experience.
  5. Be a strong and inspiring leader who has developed, mentored, trained, and retained a high-performance team.
  6. Have the demonstrated ability to strike the appropriate balance between leading/developing a team and being hands-on.
  7. Be a strong communicator and relationship builder at all levels of an organization with the ability to work effectively across functional lines.
  8. Have well-developed business acumen and be able to balance a strategic focus with the ability to dig into the details when necessary.
  9. Have strong analytical skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable business strategy.
  10. Have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering
