Tappan is a fine art dealer with both a robust online platform and a physical gallery in Los Angeles. Tappan's mission is to connect emerging and mid-career artists with collectors around the world and provide a new, more accessible way to learn about and collect art from artists.

Position Overview:

We're looking for a Project Manager to oversee artist relationships, discover and retain new artists for our roster, and drive all logistics around receiving & presenting art on our site and in our gallery. You'll manage artists, vendors, handle launch logistics, and use spreadsheets to keep everything organized and on track. In addition to project management, the ideal candidate will also co-curate and discover new artists for exhibitions and the online platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Artist & Vendor Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, vendors, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and ensure quality service and timely artwork and content deliveries. Work cross-functionally with the operations and marketing team to keep artwork launches on schedule and mitigate the effects of delays

Logistics Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate artwork launches, shipments, installations, and events related to contemporary art.

Project Management:

  • Oversee multiple projects, working with different teams to meet deadlines and budgets.

Spreadsheets & Reporting:

  • Use Excel or Google Sheets to track logistics, budgets, and artist performance. Create regular reports for management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Art History, Communications, Project Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in project management, logistics, or vendor relations.
  • Strong interest in contemporary art and fluency with artworld language, mediums and topics
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent organizational and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the art industry.
  • Fluency in Shopify, Asana, and Google Sheets
