Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled MEP PM to lead and manage field teams for the successful delivery of a large-scale project in Liberty, NC. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the construction process. The MEP Superintendent will play a key role in supervising and directing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining seamless communication with the project team to ensure the project meets its design, budget, and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to ensure contract compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, demonstrating professionalism and a collaborative attitude at all times.
Oversee productivity, materials, equipment usage, and overall project performance.
Provide technical guidance and manpower planning during the estimating and project planning phases.
Champion safety by conducting regular safety meetings, monitoring site conditions, and leading by example to enforce all safety protocols.
Organize and lead effective morning briefings and weekly safety meetings with the construction crew.
Conduct thorough reviews of project scope, plans, subcontractor schedules, and specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and refine the project schedule, coordinating resources and confirming subcontractor capabilities.
Implement the project's Safety/Security Program, ensuring the site is secure and compliant with safety standards.
Lead self-performed work efforts, ensuring timely delivery of materials, tools, and equipment while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, labor unions, and all project stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation including as-builts, inspection reports, daily logs, and progress updates.
Provide detailed daily field reports to the main office, tracking labor and project progress.
Handle labor relations, jurisdictional disputes, and assist with all project closeout activities.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Comprehensive understanding of all construction phases, from civil/site work to architectural finishes.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety standards.
Experience with project management software such as Primavera, Prolog, and Viewpoint.
Problem-solving and planning capabilities.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a PM on large industrial projects, managing multi-union crews.
Extensive expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
Background in managing MEP trades with a solid grasp of construction technology and methods.
A four-year degree in engineering or equivalent technical training/experience.
Certifications in OSHA 30, MIOSHA, First Aid/CPR, and Accident Investigation.
