Job Description:

The plant manager will have general oversight of production, customer service, operational productivity, quality, safety, purchasing, and maintenance at the Beaver Springs and Middlecreek facilities. They will provide clear direction to employees and timely, accurate support, communication and information to sales and corporate management teams. All in conjunction with driving the evolution of the processes, policies, procedures, and systems necessary to support the organization today and, more importantly, in the coming years as we continue to grow.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all operating activities at the plant
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment
  • Full Profit and Loss responsibility for the Beaver Springs and Middlecreek facilities
  • Lead the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost, quality, safety and service
  • Inventory management and asset control
  • Hiring and staffing at the Beaver Springs and Middlecreek facilities
  • Review weekly payroll for accuracy
  • Train, coach and develop plant management, production and administrative team
  • Conduct performance reviews of plant supervisors and administrative team
  • Adhere to Remmey safety standards at all times to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Oversees the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Reviews preventive maintenance program and its effectiveness, making necessary changes for improvement

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and/or 10+ years management experience
  • Profit and loss responsibility in a production environment
  • Manufacturing background with direct involvement in productivity review and improvement
  • Experience in lumber and wood is desirable
  • Lumber costing/purchasing is a plus
  • Ability to operate and lead in a team environment and communicate clearly and effectively with management and fellow team members
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of situations in an efficient manner that is fair to all
  • Ability to meet deadlines and hold people accountable while establishing strong relationships
