Under general supervision, tests, verifies, calibrates, and performs troubleshooting on high power and complex Medical Equipment including RF & gradient amplifiers, high & low voltage power supplies, combiners, circulators, and complex PCBs to meet customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
daily activities include evaluation and troubleshooting of complex systems down to component level
other daily activities include testing and adjusting amplifiers including power level, bandwidth, linearity, VSWR, coupling, drift testing, settling time adjustments, noise levels and overload levels to meet customer specifications / adjusting power supplies to meet specified output and safety specification
maintains and calibrates test station and other associated equipment to meet or exceed industry standards
ability to perform component level troubleshooting on all assemblies
provide repair team with all necessary data to ensure repair is performed correctly
maintain and provide necessary data to quality acceptance team including detailed summary of repair performed and any testing/tuning issues that were implemented
maintain a neat, clean, and orderly workstation
follow quality and safety standards and regulations set forth by the Company
QUALIFICATIONS
Must understand analog and digital circuit theory, Ohm's law, component knowledge (identification and theory), power formulas, filters, op-amp theory and basic semiconductors
Knowledge of theory from school or related experience and the ability to troubleshoot complex and non-complex circuits to the component level
Understanding how to read a schematic and how each sub-assembly interacts
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required
Requires knowledge with the functions of digital multi-meter (DMM), oscilloscope, some familiarity with spectrum & network analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and frequency counters
Ability to repair products by using a history record of similar problems
Basic computer skills required
High Voltage and/or RF experience preferred
Technical certificate and or equivalent, and 3 years of related experience
