LaSalle Network is partnering with a market-leading packaging manufacturer to hire a General Manager for a brand-new Plant location in Elgin, IL. This is a privately-owned organization with 6 US entities.
The General Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of this new plant location. This includes but is not limited to the safety and welfare of all employees, P&L management, all financial matters, quality, operations, EHS, sales, customer relations, HR, design, IT and marketing.
General Manager Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor and develop plant management and staff to achieve operational goals
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient production processes and adherence to quality standards
Implement best practices for production, maintenance and logistics to optimize performance
Analyze financial reports and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality policies
Oversee quality assurance programs to maintain high product standards
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations
Maintain compliance with all local, state and federal regulations regarding manufacturing processes
General Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred
8+ years of experience in manufacturing, with 3+ years in a leadership role within the corrugated industry
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage a P&L
Strong knowledge of corrugated production processes and equipment
Proven track record in driving operational efficiencies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
