Plant Controller Onsite | Garner, NC | Manufacturing Industry | CPA Highly Preferred We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Controller to oversee the financial health and operational efficiency of manufacturing operations. The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the plant's operations, providing strategic insights, and driving financial performance improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, costing, profitability &financial analysis, and manufacturing operations.
This is an onsite role and manufacturing industry experience is required for consideration.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting activities associated with month-end and year-end close processes, encompassing tasks such as preparing, approving, and posting journal entries, as well as conducting financial statement preparation and analysis
Lead the supervision of the day-to-day accounting operations carried out by the accounting team. Provide guidance on technical accounting topics and procedural inquiries, ensuring alignment with established policies and procedures.
Manage and coordinate external audit activities linked to the annual year-end audit process.
Oversee fixed asset subledger, inventory management, inventory costing, and lease accounting. Supervise inventory transactions, carry out month-end journal entries, and conduct inventory reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of inventory.
Analyze actual financial results against planned and forecasted figures, identifying trends and making recommendation requests.
Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, inventory management, and safety compliance
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement
Manage plant budget and expenses to ensure cost-effective operation
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
CPA or CMA highly preferred
5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost acounting, WIP, and best practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Strong analytical skills, independent problem solving skills, product cost experience, and strong oral and written communication skills required.
Proven ability to drive operational excellence and achieve production targets
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software
Candidates must be local to the Raleigh area and comfortable going onsite 5 days a week.
