The Director of Material Management is responsible for the warehouse, dispensing, receiving and inventory control at the site. The Director of Material Management oversees the storage and allocation of all raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Furthermore, the Director is responsible for the production of pack items and the dispensing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products for internal and external customers.
What you will do
Optimize and streamline material flow for cost efficiency, space utilization and safety
Work toward harmonization of logistics process and continuously implement improvement plans
Provides leadership and hand-on management to the department
Develops the team members within the department and prepares for future growth
Supervise employees in Receiving, Inventory management and dispensing function
Allocation adequate resources to ensure availability of support for operations, as needed
Ensure compliance with cGMP rules and regulations in area of responsibility
Collaborate with leadership across all departments within the company to achieve operational efficiency and goals
Build up a close collaboration with the Procurement and Planning departments to continuously improve inventory control levels with minimal space requirements
Ensure a timely execution of order from internal and external clients
Observe relevant city, state and local ordinances, as well as safety regulations for storage and handling of materials and chemicals
Maintain strict level of GMP compliance in all areas of responsibility
Train and develop staff to raise performance, and conduct performance evaluations
Ensure accurate and compliant record always keeping and inventory reconciliation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Minimum of 7 years materials management/ logistics experience
Minimum of 7 years supervisor experience
Hands on experience with GMP regulations in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry
Experience in peptide industry (preferred)
Understanding of process and materials flow in a pharmaceutical API manufacturing environment
Experience in leading & developing strategies for improving process & material flow
In-depth knowledge of inventory control and planning systems including SAP & Master Control
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written, administrative and oral communications skills
Ability to effectively organize, multitasks, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment.
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to communicate in a proactive and solutions-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
Ability to function well in a team environment
Ability to work independently and manage one's time
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Lean Six Sigma (green or black belt preferred)
Base Salary Range:
Director: $109,200 - $150,150
Sr. Manager: $100,400 - $138,050
Manager: $90,880 - $124,960
Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
