Sycamore Specialty Underwriters, LLC is a Michigan-based property and casualty holding company. We are looking to hire a Underwriting Assistant with Customer Service experience within our Personal Lines Underwriting department for our Troy, MI office. This role will have a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service by responding to all inbound producer & customer calls and written correspondence.
Support internal underwriting unit by generating & processing new business & renewal quotes.
Proactively identify, communicate and input policy transactions.
Collaborate and review inspection reports with underwriters to maintain on-going record of outstanding reports.
Manage and utilize time effectively to ensure department meets required service levels for improved customer satisfaction results.
Execute additional underwriting or project duties as needed.
Provide backup and/or overflow assistance to the team as requested.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent training and experience
Prior customer service experience is preferred
Bi-lingual (English/ Spanish) speaker is highly preferred
Prior experience working for a property/casualty insurance company or agency is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
Must obtain a property/casualty license within 90 days of hire if not already licensed
Ability to review, record and organize data from a variety of sources with no prescribed format is essential
Ability to work as a member of a team is imperative
Must be flexible and willing to learn at a rapid pace
Must be detail orientated, highly motivated and a self-starter
