NAS Electronics is an exciting, growing company with an energetic, positive, can-do culture. We're looking for a highly motivated, analytically minded Purchasing Agent with strong attention to detail and teamwork skills to join our Henderson-based team.
Requirements
Must procure materials and components at the lowest cost while considering quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need
Review demand requirements, on-hand inventory, and place purchase orders with approved suppliers
Ensure the timely receipt of materials and expedite open orders to help guarantee on-time delivery
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Enter customer quotes, source and quote RFQs, negotiate cost reductions and better delivery times, and issue or adjust purchase orders in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with the Accounting Department to resolve issues and the Engineering & Production Department to recommend new suppliers
Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarify unclear items; recommend alternatives
Resolve invoice and supplier shipment discrepancies, and handle the return of discrepant, non-conforming, or excess materials
Work well under pressure and have exceptional time management skills
Must have a positive attitude, integrity, and strong work ethic
Must be able to accurately track all communication in purchasing system and perform tasks with critical thinking and minimal supervision
3-6 years of relevant experience (preferably in electronics manufacturing)
Responsibilities
Maintain vendor files with up-to-date information
Process purchase orders for production or consumable orders
Document and track customer and vendor activities (e.g., cost increases, increasing or declining quantity requests)
Make recommendations for process and company improvements
