An established venture capital firm, based in Miami, Florida, focused on investments in the consumer and technology sectors is preparing to deploy Fund II and are looking for an experienced Venture Capital Partner to join the team.
Position Overview:
As a Venture Capital Partner, you will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments in high-potential consumer and technology startups. You will be instrumental in deploying Fund II, collaborating and leveraging your industry expertise and network to identify and support groundbreaking companies. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual with deep knowledge of the consumer and tech sectors and a passion for driving innovation through strategic investments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Sourcing & Evaluation:
Leverage your network to identify promising startups in the consumer and technology sectors. Evaluate investment opportunities, conducting rigorous due diligence on business models, market opportunities, and leadership teams.
Portfolio Management:
Actively support portfolio companies through their growth journey, providing strategic guidance on scaling, operations, and market positioning. Act as a board member or advisor as needed.
Fund Deployment:
Work closely with the firm's leadership in deploying capital from Fund II. Contribute to fundraising efforts and maintaining relationships with Limited Partners (LPs).
Ecosystem Engagement:
Engage with the Miami startup ecosystem, building strong relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry stakeholders. Represent the firm at events, conferences, and within relevant industry networks.
Thought Leadership:
Stay current on trends in the consumer and technology sectors. Share insights and thought leadership with the team, portfolio companies, and the broader market.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking, with a strong focus on consumer and technology sectors.
Proven track record of leading or supporting successful investments from sourcing through exit.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of market dynamics, trends, and key players in the consumer and technology industries.
Network:
A strong, established network of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders within the consumer and tech spaces.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Location:
Preference for Miami-based candidates or individuals willing to relocate and engage with the local startup ecosystem.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
