Position Summary: EEG Technologist has expected level of competency to work independently performing the responsibilities and duties for electroencephalography, recognizing clinically significant events and follows policy regarding critical criteria notification. Strong communication skills are essential for this position. Technologist will use their patient care skills in obtaining a quality EEG recording.
Assesses patient's ability to perform testing prior to initiation of study.
Performs all functions of EEG technician role in a timely manner on patients as required.
Comply with all outlined safety and health standards
Perform EEG studies and evoked potential.
Performs EEG procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures. Describes any abnormal clinical manifestations observed during the test.
Prepare and report findings to study investigators.
Operate and maintain equipment
Maintains EEG paperwork, including compiling history of patient, report generation, sending results and filing report when they are completed
Comply with patient privacy and safety guidelines ( Patient Identifiers)
Obtains standard recordings, recognizes artifacts, and takes appropriate steps as per protocol.
Able to work independently and with research team.
