NOTE: This will be an in-person position at our Moorestown, NJ warehouse location.

We are looking for a Director of Operations who will set goals and objectives for all teams to achieve customer satisfaction, cost, quality, and timeliness standards. The Director of Operations will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring seamless coordination between various departments to drive growth and profitability. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Operations will lead all aspects of the company's operational activities. The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing the supply chain, warehouse operations, technical support, production, and developing talent.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administrations, engineering, or operations management or related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience in production, operations, warehouse, and/or supply chain.
  • Deep experience with 5S and LEAN processes and systems.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and quality assurance principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Customer is King mindset, an excitement to develop programs to build customer loyalty.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable operational plans.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership
  • Inspire a culture of customer service excellence across the organization. Enable all staff to do what is right to help the customer and deliver amazing experience in all interactions with Coastal Source.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure good financial outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction. Report KPIs monthly and drive continuous improvement from lessons learned.
  • Hire, develop, and mentor an effective and efficient team. Grow talent and capability of staff.

Operations
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize operational efficiency, streamline processes, and maximize productivity.
  • Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Optimize office and warehouse environments to maximize efficiency and space constraints.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization's infrastructure, including facilities, people, and culture to support current and future business needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of infrastructure projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and successful completion.

Supply Chain
  • Manage the Supply Chain Supervisor to build supply chain process, systems, metrics, and reports that minimize backorders, logistics cost, and inventory levels while maximizing order fulfillment speed.
  • Establish an efficient and effective vendor management system. Build relationships with key vendors. Ensure terms and conditions are set with vendors to optimize cost/time/quality of all materials. Implement a quality scorecard for vendors.
  • Metrics include backorders (<$3% un-shippable orders / month), Safety Stock (>98% SKUs at or above their SS levels), Airfreight (decrease airfreight costs 50% YOY).

Warehouse Operations
  • Manage the Warehouse Coordinator and Warehouse Team to foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the warehouse environment.
  • Oversee logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Metrics include inventory accuracy (>98% target), Order Fulfillment (timeliness < 24 hours).

Technical Support
  • Coach and manage the Technical Services Engineer to build process, systems, metrics, and reports that enable the technical support staff to provide outstanding service to our customers (dealers, integrators, sales team, and end consumers).
  • Ensure effective and efficient return material authorization process, credit/replacements for defective products, and problem solving for quality issues.
  • Metrics include timeliness of closing tickets, customer satisfaction surveys, speed of processing RMAs to return to stock.

Production
  • Manage the Production Department to build process, systems, metrics, and reports that enable the production team to fulfil production orders on time, on quality, and on cost.
  • Ensure production processes are documented, quality control is implemented, and continuous improvement is built into the culture.
  • Develop assembly and packaging capacity and capability to increase the quantity of assembled-in-USA products in Moorestown. Identify local USA suppliers and build local USA supply chain for painting/finishing operations to enable customization of assemblies.
  • Metrics include speed of assembly processes, order fulfillment speed, quality of production built, inventory accuracy.

Travel
  • Occasional business travel (>10%) to industry events, dealer meetings, and training sessions required.
