A Day in the Life

Team is working hybrid and position can be based in North Haven, CT: Lafayette, CO; Boston, MA; or Minneapolis, MN

In this role, you will join the strategically important Advanced Surgical Technologies (AST) Business Unit (part of the Surgical Operating Unit). This role provides business partnering support to our Marketing team, with a focus on executing the strategies to drive our portfolio. The team member will partner directly with the VP of AST Marketing, providing revenue modeling, expense reporting, and critical business decision analysis. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Partner with functional stakeholders within the Operating Unit including the VP of Marketing and Senior Finance Director of AST BU

  • Provide financial reporting and forecasting for Marketing leadership team in support of our market leading products, technologies, and services

  • Assist in data preparation and analysis for the weekly AST Sales & Operations Execution plan (S&OE) and monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Global Demand Review

  • Build and deploy financial models & dashboards to quantity opportunities, prioritize investments, and track progress on key marketing initiatives to drive our products and markets

  • Drive consistent use of Market Leadership Council (MLC) tools and processes to improve budgeting and prioritization decisions

  • Contribute as a key team member of the AST Finance and broader Surgical Finance organization through various opportunities to drive engagement, inclusion, and innovation

  • Build budgets and forecasts for the AST Marketing organization aligned to BU goals and objectives.

  • Assist in AST BU strategic decision making through financial modeling, detailed analytics and storytelling through data-driven insights

  • Assist with product lifecycle management (phase in/out) strategies through the monthly Portfolio Management Review of the IBP process

  • Maintain the annual updates to product sales hierarchy to align our financial planning structure to the organization design

  • Responsibilities may include other duties assigned

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years accounting or finance experience with a Bachelor's Degree; or, 5+ years accounting or finance experience with an Advanced Degree

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience with finance applications such as General Ledger Systems, Cost Accounting Systems, SAP, etc.

  • Enrich

  • Hyperion/Essbase/OneStream

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$103,200.00 - $154,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
