Area Managers own the safety culture and ensure safety of those in their organization by monitoring and correcting unsafe conditions. The Area Manager owns the quality culture to ensure 100% right the first time quality and world class consumer complaints rates are upheld. The Area Manager is responsible for associate engagement and effectively facilitates team meetings, coordinates communications within the production line and across all shifts. While building capability in their team, the Area Manager must set clear strategic direction based on the business priorities to deliver results. They must be able to create a strategic plan for their area while predicting and supporting the needs of the plant as a whole. They will partner with all other area managers to deliver the site goals.

What are we looking for?

Minimum:

• Associate Degree OR
  


• 5+ years' experience in leadership capacity working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.


• Demonstrated ability to engage, relate to and motivate people


• Ability to grow and develop associates


• Good analytical and problem-solving skills


• Coaching and training skills


• Project management experience


• Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train


• Ability to walk and stand most of the day Frequent bending and stooping.

Preferred:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in a technical/business related discipline


• 7+ years' experience in leadership capacity working in a manufacturing/industrial environment in various roles with increasing responsibility.


• Experience operating within a formalized Continuous Improvement Environment (TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc..)


• Experience in food or consumer packaged goods industry a plus.


• Project management experience


• Proficient in Infinity QS, Nexus, SAP, Red Prairie

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Develops the Area Master Plan and 90-Day Plan to address losses and build capability


• 24 hour ownership of Quality and Safety


• Provides On the floor coaching of equipment owners across all shifts


• Owns daily escalation process over 24 hour period


• Makes quick and effective decisions, and accepts responsibility for those decisions and delivering on the commitment


• Conducts associate performance reviews, development planning


• Provide guidance and development for Continuous Improvement Tech, Area Reliability Tech, and Shift Mangers to drive area improvement and attack losses .


• Manages Area Operating Budget


• Area Capital Plan Development and Business Charter Propositions


• Compliance with all Mars Inc. policies, practices and guidelines
