Clinical Research Assistant 2 - (Bilingual in Spanish)

Overview

Duties for this complex study will include recruitment of participants, coordination of visit scheduling, consenting participants, and running data collection visits with participants. Data collection will focus on behavioral assessments of infant and early childhood development, as well as electroencephalograms (EEG) with infants and young children. Other data collection visits may include biological sample collection, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Duties also include preparing and processing materials needed for each research visit, filing, copying, data processing and other general duties in support of the goals of the study. The candidate will also attend weekly laboratory staff meetings with the PIs and senior staff members.

Essential qualifications include multi-tasking, dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, timely manner. Skilled at oral, email, and written communication. Previous experience working with pregnant people, infants, or young children as well as experience conducting behavioral assessments and/or EEGs is desired. Intermediate computer experience with Word and Excel is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to speak Spanish conversationally. Interest in mental health, health care, and addiction treatment desired. The candidate will be required to perform weekend and evening work to complete the study’s goals.



Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree with major courses in field of research, OR Associate’s AND 2 years of relevant experience, OR 3 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to speak Spanish conversationally.
  • Basic computer and office related skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Very strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work at a computer workstation for most of the business day.
  • Ability to work with families and children.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to express complex ideas and processes to study participants, co-workers and supervisors.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree or major studies in Psychology or Biology or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with infants and young children desired.
  • Previous experience working in a research setting, and/or with EEG or behavioral assessments is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer experience with Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Knowledge about infant and child development and/or human subjects research preferred.
