What You Will Do:

As a Lead Developer, you will manage an agile development team to build, maintain, and update WSB web applications designed to streamline company operations and deliver data to our clients. You will also provide technical leadership and assist a team of developers in implementing strategic procedures, designing, updating, and maintenance of cloud-native infrastructure, managing code, debugging applications, performing diagnostic testing, defect troubleshooting, and application security. Your role involves staying up to date with the latest technologies for future upgrades and guiding the team in the direction best suited for effective maintenance of existing solutions and for future efforts.

As the Lead Developer, you will work closely with Leadership to provide input on strategy, planning, and execution of web application initiatives in addition to the management of team processes in pursuit of meeting project deliverables. You will be expected to manage team workload and manage your direct reports’ priorities, mentor staff, and foster staff skillset growth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of web applications using a variety of technologies.
  • Lead a collaborative agile team environment.
  • Utilize open-source software development kits and API's to develop application solutions.
  • Research, design and develop complex enterprise-level web applications built on relational databases.
  • Manage software code review, versioning, and deployment processes
  • Transform complex customer requirements into functional and sustainable solutions
  • Leads direction of and supports CI/CD pipeline process and maintenance
  • Ensure team performs root cause analysis to ensure proper action and support continuous improvement.
  • Adapt off-the-shelf solutions to meet customer needs and requirements.
  • Administer relational and non-relational databases and backup procedures.

What You Will Bring:

Relevant experience in developing web applications. Excellent communication skills. Specifically, the candidate should be strong in the following:

  • Experience leading complex technical projects from design to production
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong customer service skills and customer relationship management experience
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques
  • Ability to learn at a fast pace and be able to rapidly learn and leverage third-party tools, SDKs, and APIs
  • Excellent organization, communication, and writing skills, and the ability to express technical concepts with regard to strategy, implementation, and design of application environments.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills, with the ability to lead and manage the effort of others when necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in Cloud native AWS technologies.
  • Experience designing, developing and deploying software in a cloud environment – AWS preferred.
  • Experience with data-driven applications
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts leveraging CI/CD tools.

Preferred Tech Stack Experience:

  • TypeScript, JavaScript
  • AWS: RDS, EC2, ECS, S3, Route 53
  • CI/CD: GitLab
  • Python
  • PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MS SQL, and Redis

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Technical science (e.g. Engineering) or equivalent Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 5 or more years’ experience developing software in an Agile, team-based environment.
  • 3 or more years as development team lead.
