Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on our Material Characterizations team, you will play an active role in providing engineering support for new product development and sustaining engineering. You will be guided by an experienced mentor and immersed in office and lab environments while you work with and create advanced technologies. Lake Shore Cryotronics is an international leader in developing innovative measurement and control solutions, primarily for scientific applications. Our equipment is often used to characterize physical properties of early-stage electronic and magnetic materials. This position will work onsite out of Westerville, OH, for the Summer of 2025. Relocation assistance is NOT available for our internships. It is preferred that candidates are available full-time (40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical design in Solidworks
• Use modeling software (ANSYS, MatLab, Solidworks, etc)
• Execute mathematical calculations in support of design
• Conduct experimental testing and analysis of new designs

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics or related discpline
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Familiarity with CAD software (Proficiency in Solidworks preferred)
• Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to be both an independent worker and collaborator
