Salary Range: $90,000 to $102,000 DOE

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Management Information Services (MIS) is responsible for the management of various enterprise applications and solutions with a primary focus on the electronic health records and related systems (EHR). The MIS Manager acts as a liaison with external vendors and collaborates with internal departments and support teams to manage the implementation of new applications and solutions related to the agency's EHR systems. The role also involves developing partnerships with senior leaders and others to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency across all aspects of the EHR systems. This includes establishing effective workflows, automating processes, and ensuring privacy, integrity, and confidentiality of data within the agency's electronic health records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Fosters collaboration between MIS and clinical teams to enhance communication and shared responsibilities and shared resources.
  2. Works closely with leadership to understand and address infrastructure requirements.
  3. Evaluates enterprise software needs and vendor solutions.
  4. Designs, implements, and maintains automation scripts and tools for continuous integration, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
  5. Identifies opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  6. Establishes and maintains monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure. Respond to and resolve incidents promptly, and continuously improve monitoring capabilities.
  7. Works with operational departments (i.e., HR, Finance, Facilities and Real Estate) to develop solutions that enable data-driven decision making and allow for tracking of key performance indicators.
  8. Implements security best practices within the DevOps workflow.
  9. Collaborates with security teams to address vulnerabilities.
  10. Protects client data and employ HIPAA standards.
  11. Stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluates their potential application within the organization.
  12. Proposes and implements innovative solutions to improve development and operations processes.
  13. Oversees and coordinates the activities of the MIS Team, provides guidance, ensures adherence to policies, and fosters a productive and collaborative work environment.
  14. Other duties as assigned by management.

    Experience and Skills

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field required.
    • Master’s degree is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 5-7 years' experience in MIS, DevOps or in a similar role.
    • Healthcare Industry experience, such as EMR administration, Health Provider Networks, and Billing experience.
    • Experience with various EHR systems such as Carelogic, Epic and Meditech.
    • Experience with database server management, and reporting systems (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
    • Track record of effectively communicating complex projects to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PoSH, JavaScript, and VBA).
    • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), version control systems (e.g., Git), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
    • Proficiency with Windows tools (Power Platform, Power Shell, Office Apps).
    • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios, ELK stack).
    • Strong supervisory, team building, and mentoring skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
